Locust Hill, in nearby Ivy, played a prominent role in American history as the birthplace of the explorer Meriwether Lewis of the renowned Lewis and Clark Expedition. The original part of this beautiful and restored home, c. 1766, still shows the massive original chestnut log walls; several additions came in the 19th & 20th centuries, making it a comfortable residence with many modern features.
